The St. Joseph Guild of JPII Academy is once again thrilled to host The Fatherhood Series.

Men of all ages and stages are invited to gather for a hearty breakfast and presentation/discussion on a topic relevant to modern fatherhood. Open to all dads, inside and outside our school community.

Our final meeting will be Wed, Feb 11, from 6-7am (with optional Mass across the parking lot at Holy Ghost at 7am). The location is St. John Paul II Academy (5203 Q St. Omaha, NE 68117).

Hosted in St. Margaret Mary's Raynor Center Gym, this event is an opportunity for high schoolers to show off their knowledge, have a chance at a scholarship, and win some money toward a charity of their choice!

High schoolers can register with a team of up to 5 people. Free pizza is available from 5-6 pm, with the contest beginning at 6.

The Christians Encounter Christ retreat is designed for adults 24+ to encounter Jesus in a personal and profound way.

Over the course of this 2.5 day weekend – from 5 p.m. Feb. 13 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 15 –participants join with clergy and laypersons in a meaningful journey of faith.

The retreat includes engaging speakers, group discussions, guided meditations, music, the Sacraments, Adoration, and prayer.

His Global Love Prayer Communities invite you to a Healing Mass on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 9602 Q St. Omaha.

St. Matthew the Evangelist Knights of Columbus Council #11879 is hosting its annual Lenten Fish Fries – held Fridays during Lent from 5-7 p.m. – with traditional seated dine-in service; carry-out service is also available. The Knights have enhanced their full menu with a la carte options.

The entrees include Fried & Baked Fish, Fried Shrimp, Baked Salmon (amounts are limited), Cheese Pizza, Tortellini, and Mac-n-Cheese. The sides include Clam Chowder, French Fries, Baked Potato, Coleslaw, and Bread.

The St Matthew’s women’s group is providing home-baked goods for dessert. A cash bar is also available.

The St. Wenceslaus Fun Fest is a parish and community event in Dodge, NE.

We begin the day with 9:00 am Mass at St. Wenceslaus.

The Magdalene XIV features Omaha performer Christina Rohling (Omaha Community Playhouse, Bridget St. Bridget Theater, etc.) portraying Mary Magdalene as a woman of courage, faith and great love who is willing to endure much to witness — and bear witness to — Christ’s Way of the Cross.

This version, appropriate for all, features meditations that focus on teen life experiences. (60 minutes)

In our world filled with noise and strife you are invited to enter the quiet and hear the voice of God.

Imagine teen followers of Jesus amid the crowd along the Way of the Cross and their individual responses to what they see at each Station. The Such As These XIV features teen readers portraying youthful members of the crowd.

At each Station, one youth steps out to express thoughts, feelings, judgements, doubts, or confusions. Their responses to Christ and events stir those of the congregation.

Reflections and prayers follow each monologue. Presented by teens from the youth group of St. Columbkille parish, these Stations will captivate and inpire persons of all ages. (60 minutes).

A Public Talk with David R. Oakley, JD

Thomas More — skilled lawyer, keen statesman, and eventually martyr — was executed in 1535 after refusing to accept King Henry VIII's religious authority. His trial has often been remembered as a clear case of political injustice.

This lecture re-examines More's prosecution through the lens of Tudor law, asking whether the trial itself was fair, and whether treason laws under which More was charged were just in the first place. By situating More as both a defendant and a skilled lawyer navigating a dangerous legal landscape, the talk offers a fresh perspective on conscience, law, and power in early modern England.

David R. Oakley is a New York-based attorney who has spent decades practicing criminal defense law, trying more than fifty cases to verdict. He is research and founding fellow of the Center for Thomas More Studies at the University of Dallas and the author of several scholarly articles on More. He also co-authored Inside the Mind of Thomas More (2017), which brings legal insight to the study of one of the most famous trials of the English Reformation.

This event is Co-Sponsored by the Political Science Department's Constitutional Studies Forum and the History Department’s Medieval and Renaissance Program.
