Blessed Stanley Rother Speaker Event

6:30pm
Cost: $35.00
Join IPF at the St. Robert Bellarmine Mainelli Center for an evening speaker event highlighting Blessed Stanley Rother. Fr. Stanley Rother was officially recognized as a martyr by Pope Francis in 2016 – the first U.S. born priest to receive this declaration. In 2017, Fr. Rother became the first U.S. priest who was beatified by the Catholic Church. We are excited to share more about this diocesan priest, whose heart was set on fire for Christ in his service to the Church.

We have two guest speakers for the evening, Archbishop Paul Coakley, head of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, and María Ruiz Scaperlanda, author of the first biography of Fr. Stanley, entitled, "The Shepherd Who Didn't Run".

To purchase your tickets for the event, click on the website link provided.  All funds raised will support IPF's Blessed Stanley Rother Pre-Ordination Fund, which provides purpose-restricted funds for IPF's annual pre-ordination retreat for seminarians. Wine, cheese, and assorted desserts will be served. If you are unable to attend the presentations in Omaha, you can purchase a virtual ticket and receive a link to watch a live stream of the event.

The Five Imperatives to Create a Culture of Generosity

4:00pm - 7:00pm
If we are truly intentional about reclaiming our missional identity in our parishes and schools, we must first reclaim the spirituality of stewardship and generosity as a disciple’s response. One of the greatest challenges to achieving this goal lies in changing parishioners’ perception of stewardship as money. Join Shannan Brommer, Tom Crowley and Deacon Al Aulner as we dive into Five Imperatives to successfully invite prayer, participation and generosity as called forth in the U.S. Bishops’ Pastoral Letter, Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response.

Shannan and Tom, along with Deacon Albert Aulner, will accompany pastors and parish and school leaders seeking to maximize stewardship and development initiatives in parishes to further the mission of Jesus.

Shannan Brommer is in her tenth year as Director of the Stewardship & Development Office for the Archdiocese of Omaha where she works with a terrific team whose efforts ensure the archdiocese has the resources and leadership needed to fulfill its mission through such programs as the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, Joy of Giving, Catholic Futures Foundation of Northeast Nebraska, Legacy Planning, the Archbishop’s Committee for Development, Culture of Generosity and the Education & Network Series. Prior to her role with the archdiocese, Shannan worked as Director of Advancement for Marian High School. Shannan has presented at the Omaha Development Institute, the Gonser Gerber Advancement Conference and the National Catholic Education Association National Conference on a variety of advancement related topics including: Implementing a Strong Annual Giving Program for Parishes and Schools, Creating the Philanthropic Habit, Marketing Programs that Score Results and Branding and Public Relations. Shannan and her husband, Brad, are members of Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Omaha.
Tom Crowley is in his seventh year with the Archdiocese of Omaha Stewardship & Development Office. His primary focus is to help parishes, schools and archdiocesan ministries implement models of generosity to advance the mission. Over the years Tom has helped grow the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, maximize support for the Ignite the Faith campaign, promote the Black Student Catholic Scholarship Fund, and cultivate support for High School Tuition Assistance Program. Prior to joining the Stewardship & Development Office, Tom spent ten years helping hospitals, parishes, and schools with major gift solicitation and fifteen years in parish ministry. Tom and his wife Dede are members of St. Margaret Mary Parish and have served on the Archbishop’s Committee for Development (ACD) for eleven years.

Deacon Al Aulner was ordained a Permanent Deacon in 2005. He has been serving as Coordinator of Jail and Prison Ministry for the Archdiocese of Omaha since September 2013. Deacon Al manages the dedicated ministry teams that serve in the rural and urban county jails and the prison institutions located within the Archdiocese.

Deacon Al also served as the Pastoral Coordinator for Holy Family Parish in Omaha from July, 2014 through March, 2020. At Holy Family he coordinated several programs that served the poor in northeast and southeast Omaha. The programs sought to provide food, clothing, financial aid, and religious services to some of the poorest people in Omaha. The programs also provided opportunities for people from across the city learn about the challenges people face in poverty. Many students from Catholic schools went to Holy Family to meet and serve people in need.

Deacon Al and his wife, Terri, are members of Holy Ghost Parish in Omaha.

Ixim: Spirit of Solidarity – Join Us on Mission
Since 2004, parishioners from across the Archdiocese of Omaha have gone to our sister diocese in Huehuetenango, Guatemala to work alongside our sisters and brothers in Christ. Over the years, Ixim missionaries have staffed medical clinics, taught lessons at local schools, applied fluoride treatments to children, assisted with reforestation projects, painted parish and school buildings, and helped implement clean water projects. Our 19th trip will be June 13 – June 23, 2024. Learn more about our mission trip at an upcoming information meeting:
