Love, Marriage and the Stations of the Cross

5:30pm - 6:15pm
Led by members of Omaha Catholic Engaged Encounter and inspired by their work, LOVE, MARRIAGE AND THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS connects the sacrifice, beauty, meaning and power of married love to the sacrifice, beauty, meaning and power of Christ's Passion meditated upon in the Stations of the Cross. At first, marriage and the Passion of Christ may seem distant or unrelated. But both center on love. Said Pope Benedict XVI: "The actual advance registered by the Christian idea of God over that of the ancient world lies in the recognition that God is love." As every spouse and parent knows, the joy and meaning that come with love are inseparable from the sacrifice and suffering love requires. "The entire theme of the suffering God flows from that of the loving God," said Pope Benedict.
