The Serra Clubs of Omaha and West Omaha will host their Annual Golf & Tennis Outing, followed by a cocktail hour, dinner, and awards at The Pines Country Club in Valley on Monday, June 6 (best ball format) with registration beginning at 11:00 AM. Tennis will be at the Miracle Hills Tennis Club at 3:00 PM. All proceeds received support the vital vocations programs of the Archdiocese of Omaha.

Couples are provided the opportunity for prayerful reflection and discussion of topics important to living the vocation of marriage within the context of the Catholic faith.

Topics include Communication, Sacramental Marriage, Marital Intimacy and Responsible Love, Challenges to the Vocation of Marriage, and Stewardship. This is a-2 day event. (This is not an overnight retreat, and no sessions will be occurring on the Wednesday in-between.)

FOCCUS: When you register for MAJ, you will automatically be registered for the FOCCUS pre-marriage inventory.

Partners in Mission, offering advancement and leadership services for Catholic education across the United States, will share expertise on enrollment management, recruitment and retainment best practices for a successful long-term plan in sustainability. In addition to tools and strategies, your team will also have the opportunity to create a plan together during this workshop. You will utilize your school’s features and translate them into marketable benefits for your community.

Who should attend: Pastors, parish leadership, school presidents and principals, parish and school stewardship and development staff and volunteers, development committees and more.

Potential Outcomes of this workshop include:

About the Presenters:

Al Catelli brings over 25 years of advancement experience to Partners in Mission. Consulting with over 200 Catholic schools in over 25 states Al specializes in the establishment and enhancement of marketing, enrollment management, and comprehensive advancement programs for Catholic secondary and elementary schools.

With the ability to think strategically and implement operationally, Al offers expertise in creating and implementing enrollment management plans; applying tried and true marketing principles to the Catholic school; writing and implementing comprehensive advancement plans; organizing and managing annual fund drives and capital campaigns; creating and implementing strategic plans; and conducting assessments.

Additionally, he served on the Executive Board of the Association of Catholic Admission and Advancement Professionals of New England (ACAAP) and presented at the National Catholic Educational Association’s (NCEA) national convention.

A native of Massachusetts, Al was educated in Catholic schools until college. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.

Kevin Dougherty is currently the Vice President of Enrollment Services at La Salle College High School, the largest all-boys private independent school in the Philadelphia area. Kevin and his team have completely redesigned the school’s marketing approach to personalize the process based on student’s interests. At the same time, they revised the school’s admissions timeline to better position the school in the highly competitive secondary school market in the Philadelphia area. Kevin and his team created STEAM Nights and Arts nights to attract public school families to La Salle while highlighting some of the schools’ areas of excellence.

Kevin led the campaign that resulted in the largest enrollment in school history, three years in a row. During this time – a time of much needed social reflection the admissions team has led a school-wide effort to increase diversity by bringing in the most racially diverse freshmen class in school history. He is responsible for the allocation of over $4 million annually through need-based financial aid. Being one of three children of a Philadelphia homicide detective and Montessori schoolteacher, Kevin understands the importance of financial aid and the life-changing impact it can create.

Under Kevin’s leadership, La Salle was the first school in the Philadelphia area to introduce a 6^th grade practice test in addition to their annual 7^th grade practice test. Most other private independent Catholic schools in the Philadelphia area now practice this model. He created a new merit-based scholarship program to strategically capitalize on top applicants. Under his leadership the admissions office redesigned their Scholarship dinner and shadow day approaches.

Kevin is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s, School Leadership Program and is currently completing an MBA at Drexel University. Kevin has led La Salle in admissions during its’ strongest decade of enrollment in school history. Kevin’s first ever professional development in Enrollment Management, 10 years ago, was at Partners in Mission Conference in Boston.

Kevin and his wife have two children and are parishioners at St. Alphonsus Church. Kevin has also coached Varsity Football at La Salle and is currently coaching Varsity Lacrosse.

Eucharistic Revival Launches

Corpus Christi Procession from OLL to St. Peter’s, 2:30pm (more details here)

Corpus Christi Procession: June 19th The Procession will begin in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 2:30 pm and end in St. Peter Church with final Benediction. An ice cream reception will be held in the St. Peter Parish Hall after final Benediction. Those who received the Sacraments of First Holy Communion or Confirmation this year are invited to wear their special attire. Many flower petals are needed. If you are able to bring flower petals from your garden or ask florists for petals to honor the path of our Lord, it will be much appreciated. Ollie the Trolley will be available for those who cannot walk the Procession route. Shuttle buses will run between St. Peter and Our Lady of Lourdes Church one hour before and after the Procession. Tune in to Spirit Catholic Radio 102.7 FM to listen to the Procession program. More than 150 Relics Coming to St. Gerald in Omaha Spirit Catholic Radio (Spirit 102.7-FM) presents Treasures of the Church—a relics exposition and healing ministry—at St. Gerald Church in Omaha on Wed., June 22 at 6:00 p.m. More than 160 sacred relics will be on display--some believed to be as old as 2,000 years. Among the treasures are relics of Pope St. John Paul II, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Padre Pio and St. Faustina. In addition, there will be one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world, as well as, a piece of a veil believed to have belonged to Our Lady. Presented by Fr. Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross. Attendees are encouraged to bring their articles of devotion (such as rosaries, holy cards, etc.) and pictures of ill friends/family members which may be touched to the reliquaries as a means of intercessory prayer. The ministry has had reports of healing among a number of visitors to the exposition. More details can be found at spiritcatholicradio.com. The event is FREE and open to the public.
