Steubenville Youth Conference

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Archdiocese of Omaha has made the decision to withdraw our participation from the 2020 Steubenville STL Conference held in Springfield, MO July 17-19. This decision was made after consultation with conference organizers and local parish leaders.

Several factors went into making this decision, principally: 1) the uncertainty of the financial impact on families, parishes, and the Archdiocese; 2) ongoing concerns regarding the safety of large gatherings into the summer and; 3) the increased challenge of recruiting both students and adults.

Parishes which previously paid deposits with the Archdiocese for Steubenville STL will be able to attend the conference, per agreement with conference organizers at the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Office of Evangelization and Catechesis intends to support parishes who choose to attend individually through logistical coaching and counsel.

Though we are saddened by this decision we have great hope that the Lord will guide us in new ways to serve you, our youth ministers, and the teens in your parish.

Steubenville Information

What is Steubenville Conference?

The Steubenville Youth Conference is a three-day experience consisting of music, keynote speakers, small group time, breakout sessions, Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, fellowship, and fun!

The majority of the conference takes place in a large-group setting, but teens will also spend time in small groups of 7-8 people of the same gender with at least one adult leader.  Some groups may also have a high school-aged junior leader.

Youth participating with their parish youth ministry will meet in small groups together.  If youth are not participating with a parish, they will be placed in a small group with youth from other area parishes.
