Theology Matters presents God’s People on the Move: Theology of Migration and Mission with guest speakers Dr. Aimee Hein (author of Theology in Motion: Migration, History, and Responsibility) and Columban Fathers Chris Saenz and Michael Hoban.

Starting with how our origin stories shape the way we address migration – the Israelites moving from Egypt to The Promised Land, the Puritans moving from England to the New World, or Americans moving west under Manifest Destiny – and how our belief in a providential God underpins our claims to the land, our guest speakers will bring us to 2025, when more than 120 million people across the globe have been forcibly displaced because of war, persecution, violence, and human rights violations.

Indeed, God’s people are on the move. And what are we, as God’s people to do?
Come and hear what a theologian and two missionary priests with decades of personal experience have to say about our responsibility to participate in the task of repairing relationships, restoring peace, and working for justice for our brothers and sisters.
