Ignatian Associates Information Session

9:15am - 10:15am
Wanted: lay adults open to formation in the Spiritual Exercises and creating an ongoing community of practice.

The Ignatian Associates, started by the Jesuits over 25 years ago, are lay communities carrying on the Catholic Ignatian mission in everyday life.

The Omaha community is intergenerational, married and single, living throughout Omaha, united through our ongoing formation and practice of Ignatian spirituality. Ignatian Associates attend any parish in Omaha and see IA as a complement to parish life.

If you feel any nudge to explore what a deeper, lay-led, practice of the faith might offer to your faith journey, join us for an information session, Sunday, May 3, from 9:15-10:15 at St. John's Parish on the Creighton Campus in the Lower St. John's Conference Room.

St. John's offers Mass beforehand at 8:00 a.m. or after at 10:30 a.m. For more information, click the QR code or email LisaKellyIA@gmail.com

Bishop O'Donnell to honor Mary & all mothers at Missouri shrine

11:45am
All are invited as we welcome newly appointed Bishop Ralph O’Donnell, originally from the Archdiocese of Omaha, to our Feast Day celebration on May 25, 2026.

Bishop O’Donnell will honor Mary and all mothers by presiding over the Memorial Mass of Mary, Mother of the Church at The National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church in Laurie, MO.

We are blessed to welcome Bishop Ralph O’Donnell, who will be celebrating Mass at the Mother’s Shrine for the first time. The Missouri Knights of Columbus and the Knights and Dames of the Holy Sepulchre will add to the solemnity of worship and the honor given to Mary and all mothers on this day.

A Patriotic Rosary will start at 11:45 a.m. At 1:00 p.m. Bishop O’Donnell will preside over the Crowning of Mary, Holy Mass and the Unveiling of new names on our Mothers’ Wall of Life. The Knights of Columbus will then provide a fundraiser lunch to all who have sent an R.S.V.P. for it. Sign up for lunch at: mothersshrine.com.

The National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church is nestled in the hills, west of the Lake of the Ozarks.

Over the years the shrine has grown from those first ideas in the 1980s into a beautiful shrine, which can accommodate around 6,000 people for each outdoor Mass.

We echo the invitation of Christ, “Behold your Mother.” Come and experience the peace and beauty of the shrine. Come and be enveloped by the love of your Heavenly Mother. Let your heart be touched by her tenderness. Receive the graces she wants to shower on you. Allow her to lead you into deeper relationship with her son.
