Be Not Afraid Family Holy Hour

6:00pm - 7:00pm

Theme: A Deep Dive in the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Reflection shared by Father Joe O’Connor and others. Pope Benedict XVI has expressed the danger of Relativism in the world and the misunderstanding of the Catholic Church and God who is filled with love and mercy. How can we through reflecting on the Prodigal Son parable to assist helping those who have left God and the Church in their lives towards the journey coming home to embrace the love of the Father? Included is a touching story of a father who never gave up on his son after an earthquake collapsed the son’s school. This hour includes the recitation of the Rosary and availability of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children

Fr John Pietramale, pastor of Christ the King Church in Omaha, leads a prayer service to remember aborted children in a national campaign. Sr Renee Mirkes, OSF, from the St Paul VI Institute will present a talk entitled "Benjamin B Ferencz: Applications of His Legacy for the Human Rights of the Unborn."

Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, it is crucial that we continue to mourn the millions of lives lost to abortion, and repent of the national sin of abortion, even as we begin the project of extending legal protection to unborn children in every state we can.

The Serra Club of West Omaha invites you to a special Mass for Vocations. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Reeson to pray together for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated religious life in the Archdiocese of Omaha. After Mass, stay for our Meeting & Mixer and learn from our speaker, Deacon Dick Petersen, about his call to serve our Lord, his enlightening spiritual experiences along the way, and why prayer for vocations is so vital to the future of the Catholic Church, especially during this unique time in history. Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome! If you are interested in helping to build the Church locally through vocations support, contact Bruce Jefferies, Serra VP, at westomaha@serrainternational.org.
