I am Winnebago/Ho-Chunk, a Native American of the Winnebago/Ho-Chunk Tribe of Nebraska. My home parish is St. Augustine's Indian Mission in Winnebago, Nebraska. I have an older brother and four nephews.
I play the Native American flute, a gift I received from my mother sometime between 2016-2018 for Christmas. I use and practice this instrument to support prayers, Mass, and quiet reflection. Fr. Dave Korth played the instrument during his stay at my parish, and it was from his playing that I felt called to take it up myself.
I enjoy reading and writing. I attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha with a major in Religious Studies and two minors, Native American Studies and Creative Writing. During college, I acted as secretary of my student group, the Intertribal Student Council of UNO.
While on this journey of discernment to the priesthood, I hope and pray that I may be a capable, sturdy influence and role model for many of my communities. There is an abundance of hopelessness in these communities, and I strive to aid in changing that. Bringing hope, faith, trust and love, the grace of God, and news of His Son, Jesus Christ, to inspire this change. With many prayers, peace be with you.
