Where all are invited to follow Him.
We all share one thing in common through the Omaha Archdiocese: open arms. Here, vocation takes on a new meaning. It becomes something warmer, more welcoming and more inclusive. Derived from the Latin vocatio, or “a call or summons”, we define vocation as a call to serve God and his Church. Whether you’re committing yourself to consecrated life, discerning the priesthood, or considering adopting Jesus’ mission by serving as a deacon, there’s a place for you here.
Follow your heart. Listen closely to how God is calling you to serve. There are countless ways for men and women alike to share in the Spirit.
Uplifting the lives of others is a rewarding life unto itself. Contact us if you’re interested in learning more about vocations and consecrated life within the Archdiocese of Omaha.
When one thinks about seminary life one often conjures up images of a mysterious place far away from home. Nothing could be farther from the truth! The seminary is a vibrant community of men discerning their call to the priesthood. Imagine one hundred seminarians all seeking God’s will, praying in common, celebrating the Eucharist together every day, sharing many of the same joys and struggles, and each of them seeking the priesthood. This is the vital reality of seminary life.Learn More
Deacons minister in many different settings from the traditional parish to prisons, hospitals, convalescent homes, juvenile detention centers, shelters for the homeless or the abused, soup kitchens, police departments, and the workplace. Regardless of where a deacon finds himself, it is there that he serves.Learn More

The teaching and example of Christ provide the foundation for the evangelical counsels of chaste self-dedication to God, of poverty and of obedience. The Apostles and Fathers of the Church commend them as an ideal of life, and so do her doctors and pastors. They therefore constitute a gift of God that the Church has received from her Lord and which by his grace she always safeguards.Learn More
