Pornography Awareness, Truth, and Healing

Pornography Healing

The Archdiocese of Omaha Pornography Awareness Truth and Healing (PATH) Task Force was created in late 2007 to study and address concerns about pornography on behalf of the Church. Its primary audience is the Catholic Community in the Archdiocese of Omaha – clergy, lay ministers/professionals, parents, grandparents, young adults, and children/youth.

Supportive Resources

  • Pastoral Care: This is our pastoral care list of trained clergy willing to provide support outside the confessional to those struggling with pornography.
  • Counseling: This is our counseling list of trained professionals who will support Catholic teaching.
  • Men’s Support and Accountability Groups: The weekly support groups are for men who want to live chaste lives free from pornography and masturbation. Men interested in attending an urban group should call 402.557.5664 and leave a message. The group facilitator is the sole retriever of messages and will return your call within 48 hours. The group meets in Omaha. Men interested in attending the Cedar County rural group should call 402.557.5694 and leave a message. The group facilitator is the sole retriever of messages and will return your call within 48 hours.

The PATH Task Force has three primary goals:

  1. to increase awareness of the prevalence of pornography
  2. to educate on the harmful and long-lasting effects of pornography
  3. to provide support/healing resources to those who have been hurt by pornography.

PATH conducted a survey on technology usage in families. There were 851 parents and 4,854 students (grades 2 through 12) surveyed. Parish schools and religious education programs were participated in this project.
