AMENDMENT 439

is an extreme push for late-pregnancy abortion with no protections for Nebraska women and preborn children, even when the child can feel pain.

Here are the red flags.

  • Late-term abortion is dangerous and traumatizing.

  • "Viability" is undefined, ignoring basic science.

  • Nebraska teens could get an abortion without parental involvement, widening the rift in Nebraskan families and between generations.

  • How can Nebraskans protect women and children if “without interference from the state” is in our state Constitution?

  • "Medical professional" is undefined, risking trust and lives. Even the mother's "health" is undefined. Emotional, spiritual, and even financial health would be grounds for an abortion.

  • 50 years of longstanding health and safety standards for Nebraska women would be repealed.
