THE CENTURION XIV Stations of the Cross
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Cost: Free
Both dramatic and devout, The Centurion XIV features the Centurion who pierced the side of Jesus on the cross.
Non-canonical sources have asserted his name – Longinus – and stories about him tell of his conversion, being evangelized by the Apostles, spreading the Good News himself, and eventually dying a martyr’s death.
The Centurion XIV imagines Longinus in a Roman prison with other followers of Christ. All are soon to die, and Longinus is asked to recall his memories and thoughts of The Way of the Cross to help pass their final hour.
Performer Karl Rohling portrays Longinus as a person of both strong faith and deep regrets whose witness inspires his listeners to enter the Passion, grow in faith and to contemplate their own regrets – and the unfailing mercy of Christ.

Astronomy and the Question for God
9:30am
This April 5-6 retreat features astronomer Father Christoph Gerhard, OSB, of the Muensterschwarzach Abbey in Germany. He is an astronomer and has authored several books on faith and astronomy.
For many of us, looking through a telescope into the “infinite” cosmos inevitably raises the question of a creator. But is there even a place for God in the universe? Do science and faith not contradict each other? We view the two as related to one another, offering different, complementary approaches to the one reality. During this weekend, we will not only focus on the practical use of telescopes but also consider biblical texts relating to creation and the universe.
The retreat concludes after lunch on Sunday, April 6.
Program fee: $70. Rooms per night: single occupancy $52, double $43 per person. Meals: breakfast $9, lunch $13.30, supper $12.30. Sales and lodging taxes are extra.
Register at www.StBenedictCenter.com or by call (402) 352-8819, ext. 360.

Theology Day: The Untapped Power of the Eucharist
11:00am - 3:00pm
Cost: Free
What does the Church’s traditional teaching on Eucharist mean to today’s Catholic? How can we enrich our understanding of how Christ is present in the sacrament?
Current surveys show that one in three Catholics today do not believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharistic elements at Mass.
Join Dr. Shawn Colberg for an exploration of the Church’s teaching on the Eucharist including the way it calls us to become Christ for one another and the world around us. Together we will reflect on Eucharistic
presence as sign, sacrament, and sacrifice as a way to renew our connection with Jesus in the sacrament. And we will explore the theology of the Eucharist and the amazing power of Eucharistic presence within the liturgy to renew and regenerate both the Church and the wider world.
This presentation orients us as Pilgrims of Hope in the 2025 Jubilee Year.
Registration is required. There is no cost for attending Theology Day.
Shawn Colberg, Ph.D., is Dean of the School of Theology and Seminary at Saint John’s University as well as Associate Professor of Theology in the Department of Theology at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. He completed his Master of Divinity at Yale University Divinity School and earned a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Notre Dame.
Shawn recently published a book entitled "The Wayfarer’s End" (Catholic University of America Press) and is widely published in journals and edited volumes.

6:30pm - 9:15pm
Open to all high schoolers in the Omaha archdiocese, this event is a chance to hang out with over 100 other high school students and get a taste of what ministry in college looks like. Come to the St. John Paul II Newman Center for adoration, games, talks from Newman Center students and some fun treats. We can't wait to see you there!
