A Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 am before the conference begins.

The Nebraska Walk for Life will be February 1 in Lincoln and begins on the north steps of the State Capitol at 10 a.m.

A Pro-Life Mass, sponsored by the Nebraska Catholic Conference, precedes the walk and will be celebrated by Bishop Joseph G. Hanefeldt of the Diocese of Grand Island. The Mass is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 1420 K St., across from the Capitol.

A new route this year will be taking participants to the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, 333 S 13th St., where people can browse at informational booths and hear speaker Elizabeth Gillette’s keynote speech at 11:30 a.m. Gillette is a pro-life author and speaker who experienced a chemical abortion.

The Marriage vow includes the question: Will you accept children lovingly from God and bring them up according to the law of Christ and the Church? We present our children to the Lord in Baptism, because our child belongs to the Lord. We are chosen to procreate children, nurture them with nutrition, faith, and love and then offer them to God. This hour includes the recitation of the Rosary and availability of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

This Sacramental Living series will run for four weeks and be taught by Dr. Brandon Harvey.

Come learn about the seven sacraments, how the sacraments transform our view of God and humanity, and how the sacraments are meant to impact every aspect of our lives.

This study will not only impact your faith and experience of the sacraments, but also prepare you for a blessed and holy Lent.

The Prophet Jeremiah bears in himself the pain of Israel’s blindness to the truth and, at the same time, God’s everlasting love for his chosen people. It is the “age-old love with which I have loved you” (Jer 31:3) that Jeremiah clings to as he sees his familiar world disappear.

We will see how Jeremiah stands firm in a changing world, how he confronts those who don’t want to see and how he speaks of a new relationship for the future built on a covenant that, once made, God will never let go of.

We will hear how Jeremiah is no stranger to us in a time when we are living in a change of eras and still speaks to us of a compassion that wants to embrace us and make us new.

Father Joel Macul, OSB, STL, was the prior at our monastery in Schuyler from 2017 till 2023. Before that, he served as abbot of St. Paul’s Abbey in Newton, New Jersey, and taught Scripture at Tangaza College and Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. He now lives again in Newton, NJ.

Information session for an 8-week session for those grieving the death of a loved one using Alan Wolfelt's book - "Understanding Your Grief."
