DESCRIPTION:We live in a time of great movement and change. Families are often separated, young people may find themselves living far from home, climate-related disasters can uproot entire neighborhoods, and many people look for connection and belonging through online communities.

Dr. Michael Rubbelke – assistant professor of spirituality and monastic studies at St. John's School of Theology and Seminary – will explore the Rule of St. Benedict and the monastic understanding of stability in this extremely mobile culture and how the experience of conscious commitment to one's communities can be a gift for contemporary American Christians.

He will address the practical advantages and blessings of being rooted in the kind of community that results from the virtue of stability and its power to be an antidote to the fear and division that exists in society today.

Registration is required: www/collegevilleMN.com/theologyday or call 320-363-3560.

In-person check-in is 30 minutes before the presentation's 11a.m. start time. Lunch will be provided. Contact St. John's School of Theology and Seminary(
