Sts. Peter and Paul will continue its 109-year tradition of celebrating summer by hosting its annual ethnic festival, “The Greatest Festival in Town.” During its first century, this event grew to be one of the largest of the local church festivals, and the tradition continues into its second century. This fantastic summer festival features a MegaBucks $5,000 grand prize drawing, a melting pot of South Omaha's favorite ethnic foods, beer, rides, prizes, and live music. The Sts. Peter and Paul parish festival, the city’s oldest, largest and longest-running annual church Festival, is on Sunday, August 2, from noon - 8:00 p.m. on the parish grounds at 36th & “X” Street, Omaha, NE. A single drawing for $5,000, a second prize of $500, and additional $100 prizes headline Omaha’s greatest summer church festival. The continuous live music by the Ken Janak Orchestra, the Mark Vyhldal Orchestra, and Blanford will provide a full day of great entertainment. Other drawings include handmade quilts and afghans, meat raffles, “pickles,” along with numerous rides, and games for children and the entire family. Everyone is invited to bring hearty appetites to savor delicious ethnic foods, including Sts.
