Lose It & Reuse It

9:00am - 3:00pm
The ReUse Network is hosting its annual Lose It & ReUse It Medical Equipment Exchange.  For every stored and forgotten about walker, wheelchair, shower bench and pair of reading glasses, there are 5 people who are looking for an affordable option for medical equipment to increase their safety and independence.

The partners involved in the Reuse Network of Omaha are inviting the public to drop off (Lose it) any medical equipment or assistive devices that are still in good working condition between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Volunteers will be available to help unload heavy equipment, accept the donations, inventory, and clean each device to make sure it is safe to reuse. The public is invited to pick up any equipment they need (Reuse it) for FREE! Quantities available are limited and will depend upon donations received.

All donations are tax deductible.

We gladly accept:
● mobility devices (wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, etc.),
● lactation equipment,
● hospital beds & lift chairs,
● alternating pressure pump systems & low air-loss systems,
● bathroom equipment,
● unopened medical supplies,
● respiratory equipment,
● assistive devices (low vision equipment and hearing aids).

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept:
● mattresses,
● open medical supplies
● needles

Croise Spiritual Journey for Men

7:00pm - 8:00pm
Croise is a new approach to teach men to pray, set goals and take action to express their faith in ways which opens their minds and strengthen their resolve to change the world they live in. It is a time in history when our original faith must be reignited, understood and lived with compelling passion by men. The confusion of today must be used to clearly define who Jesus Christ is for the world. Our premier Holy Hour will use magnificent music, time tested historical writings, preaching prayer, ingenious use of technology and a lightning demonstration of the French defensive fencing move Croise (kwaa-zay).

All men over 18 are welcome to Croise every third Monday of the month at St. Cecilia's.

Feast of the Ascension (Holy Day of Obligation)

Jesus rises into Heaven after spending 40 days on Earth after the Resurrection.

Honoring our Veterans

2:00pm - 2:45pm
Courageous, patriotic, devoted, honorable, selfless, brave, strong, resilient and dedicated are the words that describe the 47 US Military Veterans who will be saluted at “Honoring Our Veterans” at New Cassel Retirement Center. They are our all American heroes! These 47 men and women defended our country and provided each of us our freedom. On this special day, we all come together to say ‘thank you!” From the youngest to the oldest, we all owe our veterans more than we could ever afford to give, at least we can say “thank you” and give them a very special day!
Our event will encompass posting of the colors, a guest speaker, a thank you to our veterans and spouses of veterans, the playing of Taps and refreshments for our guests. This year we welcome Steve Jordon, retired Omaha World-Herald Reporter and Editor, as our guest speaker. Steve was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia and lived in Michigan, Okinawa and Kansas with his Air Force family before landing in Bellevue, Nebraska where his father, Colonel Ken Jordon, was stationed three times with the US Air Force’s Strategic Air Command.
American Legion Post #1 will Post the Colors, play Taps and conduct a rifle salute. Each veteran will receive a patriotic gift and spouses of veterans will receive red, white and blue flowers courtesy of Honor and Remember Nebraska Chapter.
