Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is not a holy day of obligation.  However, it is strongly advisable since it is fitting to mark the beginning of penitential season of Lent by going to Mass.  It is a day of fasting and abstinence. For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.

Teens Encounter Christ (TEC)

10:00am (03/16) - 5:00pm (03/18)
Cost: $75.00
Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) is a three-day retreat for juniors and seniors in high school, as well as college freshmen. This intergenerational movement helps youth transition into young adulthood. TEC draws participants into the heart of the Catholic faith: Christ’s Paschal Mystery (His passion, death, and resurrection) lived out in the Church. Croise Spiritual Journey for Men

7:00pm - 8:00pm
Croise is a new approach to teach men to pray, set goals and take action to express their faith in ways which opens their minds and strengthen their resolve to change the world they live in. It is a time in history when our original faith must be reignited, understood and lived with compelling passion by men. The confusion of today must be used to clearly define who Jesus Christ is for the world. Our premier Holy Hour will use magnificent music, time tested historical writings, preaching prayer, ingenious use of technology and a lightning demonstration of the French defensive fencing move Croise (kwaa-zay).

All men over 18 are welcome to Croise every third Monday of the month at St. Cecilia's.
