Missional Communities

In 2020, Archbishop Lucas announced The Big Goal: Within the next six years, every parish in the archdiocese will become a "Missional Community." Key to achieving this goal are three important characteristics:

1. Collaborative Leadership
2. A Clear Path of Discipleship
3. A Culture of Generosity

Over time, these characteristics will bear fruit in the measurement outcomes of increased mass attendance, an increase of baptisms and receptions into the Church, increased offertory, and the living of mercy in the wider community. In partnership with the Archdiocese of Omaha Pastoral Services Team, The Stewardship and Development Office will offer learning opportunities to develop one of the three characteristics: A Culture of Generosity.

"The Archdiocese Stewardship and Development Office Networking and Education Series has been a great resource for me as someone new to development. The topics are always relevant and helpful to bring back to Christ the King. I've also made many friends from the archdiocese and other parishes through the networking that occurs at these events."

- Lori Dvorak, Mission Development Coordinator, Christ the King

"This year after attending the Pastoral Conference as a staff team, we took a new approach to the Culture of Generosity workshop offered in October. Instead of only asking our parish staff members that work in development to attend, we asked our Evangelization team and Stewardship Committee to attend the workshop as well. The workshop was insightful and informative in showing how evangelization and discipleship are the building blocks of stewardship, and our team was so passionate about working together to help more people experience that life-changing transformation."

- Sheryl Cahoy, Director of Stewardship, Sacred Heart Norfolk
