Receiving Jesus’ Love Through Worship
Jesus’ love is selflessly bestowed upon us. It’s an active love that takes nurturing and attentive listening on our part. We demonstrate our love of Him through worship – informally through prayer and service to others and more formally through the sacraments.
Grace. It’s why Jesus created the sacraments. His gift of the sacraments helps us praise God, stay close to Him, and grow in our love for Him. His grace nourishes and strengthens our faith. His grace gives us a lifeline to Him so we can participate in his life.
The ultimate form of worship is the Eucharist and the Liturgy – giving thanks and praise to the Father and witnessing the miraculous transformation of simple bread and wine into Jesus’ living within each of us.
Worship is also as simple as asking for a blessing for a sick friend in need of God’s grace, saying a prayer for a child needing guidance, or reciting the rosary to remember and honor Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice for all of us. Setting aside time each day for prayers like this, grace before meals, or devotional readings and reflection meld us together in a shared Catholic faith.
Divine Worship Assistance for Parishes
At the Archdiocese of Omaha, we are here to help parishes prepare for liturgical celebrations in your faith community. This work is one of the most important in the life of the Church. Through thoughtful preparation the celebration of the Church’s liturgy fosters and strengthens faith.
